A documentary that details the contribution of Latin musicians from the birth of Brazz Bands in New Orleans in 1895 until the birth of Latin jazz by the founding father Mario Bauza in the 1940's. The first segment of this documentary examines the colonial slavery period from the beginning to the end, sharing the development of the creative forces in that period. In summary, it focuses on how the African black and the "Criollo" create their own music based upon their ancestral traditions and whatever was offered and permitted from the land of America. The second segment narrates the development of jazz, and how the Caribbean traditions and musical creations feed and bejewel jazz from its very beginning. In the third segment, the video shows how Latino jazz is born, with the support of the creator of this genre, Mr. Mario Bauza.
