This collective film by four of Argentina's most promising emerging filmmakers contains four stories that unfold simultaneously. It's election time in Buenos Aires and the bustling city is the backdrop for stories about frustration and deception. A young man from the provinces finds himself involved in an unexpected situation in "the big city"; an immigrant bricklayer is transformed by a pretty girl in the street; a teenager's crush on his classmate affects a man kidnapped for ransom; and an unsuspecting sound technician falls for the girlfriend of a politician. This elegantly structured and darkly funny film presents a synthetic portrait of contemporary urban life in Argentina. Awarded best Latin American film at the Mar del Plata Film Festival. |
